    In a remarkable display of determination and resilience, 63 inmates from the Nsawam Medium Security Prison in the Eastern Region have graduated from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) through the College of Distance Education (CoDE).

    The graduates, comprising 58 males and 5 females, successfully completed their undergraduate programs in various disciplines, including Bachelor of Education (JHS Education), Bachelor of Commerce (Management), and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting).

    Notably, three students achieved first-class honors in Bachelor of Education (JHS Education), while others secured impressive grades across the various programs:

    – Bachelor of Education (JHS Education):

    – 3 First Class

    – 10 Second Class Upper Division

    – 19 Second Class Lower Division

    – 6 Third Class

    – 1 Pass

    – Bachelor of Commerce (Management):

    – 1 Second Class Upper Division

    – 7 Second Class Lower Division

    – 3 Third Class

    – 6 Passes

    – Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting):

    – 2 Second Class Upper Division


    – 2 Second Class Lower Division

    – 1 Third Class

    – 2 Passes

    Mathew Milluzieh emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student, achieving an impressive CGPA of 3.8.

    This remarkable achievement is a testament to the transformative power of education and the commitment of UCC to providing opportunities for all, regardless of circumstances.
