Two individuals were rescued by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) after being trapped in a collision between two trailers at Konongo-Odumase in the Asante Akim Central Municipality.

The accident happened early on Saturday, July 5, 2025, along the Three Lane stretch. It involved a Nigeria-bound Man Diesel trailer (registration JBD 704ZY) and another trailer (GS 7884-18).

Upon receiving a distress call, firefighters from the Konongo-Odumase Fire Station, under the leadership of LFM Siale, quickly arrived at the scene. They found two people trapped inside the crushed cabin of one of the trailers.

Using specialized rescue methods—including door removal, pedal displacement, and dashboard rolling—the team successfully freed the victims, who were then taken to the hospital for treatment.

The trailer registered GS 7884-18 suffered major front-end damage, while the Nigeria-bound truck had partial rear damage. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
