Born in Sunyani in 1964, he compiled a professional record of 41 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw, including 32 knockouts.
He won world titles in two weight divisions, first capturing the World Boxing Council super flyweight title in 1989 before winning the World Boxing Association bantamweight title twice in the mid 1990s.
His achievements contributed significantly to Ghana’s standing in global boxing and placed him among the most respected fighters in the country’s history.
PKO praised Konadu’s character and values as decisive factors in the appointment.
“Nana Yaw Konadu represents humility, hard work, transparency, and trustworthiness. His leadership gives hope to fellow boxers and aligns with PKO’s mission to protect athletes, promote honesty, and build future world champions,” the company stated.
The organization also emphasised that boxers remain at the core of its priorities.
PKO expressed gratitude to former interim Honorary President Joseph Agbeko, who stepped down following the transition.
“We thank Joseph Agbeko for his contribution during the interim period while the company was being structured and formally established,” the company added.
In a related development, PKO announced Princess Sandelle Dankwa as its new PR and Marketing Manager.
Her appointment was also unanimously approved after a comprehensive review.
She brings experience in communications, marketing, and stakeholder engagement and is expected to enhance PKO’s brand visibility and public outreach.
