The Black Princesses of Ghana The Black Princesses of Ghana

Twenty Black Princesses, along with the technical team, departed Accra late Tuesday, February 10, 2026, bound for South Africa for the 2nd leg of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

Ghana drew 2-2 with South Africa in the 1st leg at the Accra Sports Stadium and aims to pick up the maximum points to progress to the fourth round of the qualifiers.

Agnes Yeboah opened the scoring for the Princesses in the 33rd minute to put Ghana in the lead.

Diana Amoako’s long-range strike from the centre hit the post, denying Ghana a second before halftime. But South Africa drew level after recess in the 48th minute. Ghana restored their lead in the 52nd minute when Linda Owusu Ansah scored from a corner kick.

The Princesses were pegged back after a defensive blunder saw the visitors equalise in the 60th minute. Ghana pushed for the lead, but their efforts were thwarted as Jessica Appiah’s goal was ruled offside in the 90th minute.

The return fixture will be played on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa.

Ghana is aiming to book their eighth consecutive appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland in September 2026.
