Ghanaian director and filmmaker, Socrate Safo, has disclosed that orientation must be rendered to people before they are offered TV license.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on August 5, 2025, Socrate Safo mentioned that the challenges some producers are facing today is based on ignorance.

“You must license a TV station to show movies and before the license is given, you give them orientation. Orientation is very important. All the chaos we see today is out of ignorance.

“The challenges we are facing today which we creating years ago is based on the licensing bate that we are not enforcing” he said.

He cited an example where a Ghanaian filmmaker made claims that a TV station showed her newly produced movie on their channel saying, “When we do the licensing, the next thing we have to do is channel of distribution. As an industry, let’s sit and come up with a channel distribution. Let’s go through all we’ve done.”
