Jeffrey Epstein‘s former lawyer called for Ghislaine Maxwell to be freed from jail and compelled to testify at Congress in a bid to finally dispel the conspiracy theories about a ‘client list’ plaguing the White House once and for all.
Alan Dershowitz, who also represented Donald Trump, told Newsmax that Maxwell should have her 20 year sentence commuted and appear on Capitol Hill to reveal everything she knows.
It comes as Trump ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to release more of the Epstein files related to grand jury testimony about the case, pending court approval.
His order was handed down following backlash to the Department of Justice’s announcement that it is closing its investigation, without any further arrests or bringing to light the so-called client list many believe exists.
The decision caused uproar among MAGA loyalists, who were hoping any such list would identify figures involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
Scrutiny in the case ramped up even further this week, after the Wall Street Journal ran a story claiming the president sent Epstein a ‘bawdy’ birthday message in 2003.
Dershowitz has previously quashed claims that his client ever kept a list and suggested that the latest tranche of documents due to be unsealed is unlikely to contain any bombshells.
‘Ghislaine Maxwell is basically serving the sentence that Epstein would have gotten,’ said Dershowitz. ‘She should never be in jail for 20 years. What should happen is that she should be freed.

‘She should have her sentence commuted. She should then be called in front of Congress, have Congress give her total immunity, and then she can tell everything.’
Maxwell has expressed a willingness to testify, according to Dershowitz.
She was convicted of aiding Epstein in procuring underage girls for sex in 2022 and is currently serving time in a Florida jail.
Maxwell is appealing her conviction on the grounds that a 2007 non-prosecution Epstein made in relation to a solicitation of a minor charge in Florida bars her from being prosecuted in New York.
‘She knows everything,’ Dershowitz told Fox. ‘She is the Rosetta Stone. She knows everything. She arranged every single trip with everybody.
‘She knows everything. And if she were just given use immunity, she could be compelled to testify.
‘I’m told that she actually would be willing to testify. And there’d be no reason for her to withhold any information.’
Epstein died by suicide in a New York prison cell while awaiting trial for charges linked to the sex trafficking ring in 2019.

Conspiracy theorists have long posited that there was more to his death.
Dershowitz told Fox the documents of note are ‘sealed records by two or three federal judges in the New York courts’.
‘The information that hasn’t been requested is going to be far more informative and far more relevant than the grand jury information,’ Dershowitz said.
‘Grand jury information is narrowly tailored by prosecutors only to provide sufficient evidence to result in an indictment.’
The DOJ released 11 hours of footage in a bid to try and stamp out the rumors for good.
But sleuths were quick to point out that parts seemed to be missing and that the view of Epstein’s cell was obscured.
The clip secured from a camera stationed outside Epstein’s cell was also found to be ‘likely modified’ using the professional video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro, according to the analysis from Wired.
The doubt stemmed from the ‘raw’ released footage’s timestamp, which jumps ahead one minute at midnight on August 10.

The jump is present in the original clip as well an enhanced version released by the FBI.
Bondi tried to explain away the missing minute of footage as part of a routine reset that takes place at the center every night, claiming: ‘[E]very night the video is reset, and every night should have the same minute missing.’
Bondi also said the Justice Department was looking to publish additional footage to prove it was part of a regular reset undertaken at the prison and not an elaborate coverup.
Many of the Epstein conspiracies have been touted by figures within the Trump administration.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino previously stated there is ‘credible evidence’ of a ‘multitude of tapes’ existed showing Epstein and associates committing child abuse, a claim which was echoed by Bondi.
The Attorney General further fanned the flames of speculation by claiming the Epstein list was ‘sitting on [her] desk right now’ ready for review.
However, The DOJ and FBI have since released a joint review concluding that Epstein had ‘no incriminating client list’ that could implicate high-profile associates.
Despite previously vowing to disclose the Epstein files, Trump is now trying to downplay them as ‘boring stuff’ and claims he ‘doesn’t understand why’ there is demand for their release.

The president said he parted ways with Epstein before the financier’s legal troubles became public in 2006 and categorically denied the Wall Street Journal’s report about the birthday note.
He revealed he is suing the outlet and owner Rupert Murdoch for $10 billion over claims of libel.
This letter, which the newspaper did not publish but only described, was said to contain, ‘several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker’.
According to the WSJ: ‘A pair of small arcs denotes the woman’s breasts, and the future president’s signature is a squiggly “Donald” below her waist, mimicking pubic hair.’
He told the newspaper: ‘This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story.
‘I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women. It’s not my language. It’s not my words.’
Meanwhile, Maxwell’s former prison dorm mate shared her chilling fears for the felon’s fate, revealing just how firmly some of the theories about Epstein’s death are held.

Jessica Watkins, a transgender veteran who was serving time for the January 6 riots before receiving a pardon by Donald Trump, suggested 63-year-old Maxwell could meet the same fate as Epstein, who was found dead in his prison cell.
‘Just putting this out there: I know Ghislaine Maxwell personally when I was in prison with her. She isn’t suicidal in the least,’ Watkins posted on X.
There are also virtually no working cameras in FCI Tallahassee,’ she added in an apparent reference to the suspicious coincidences around Epstein’s death, which was ruled a suicide.
Watkins claimed that only ‘maybe ten’ cameras in the ‘entire’ prison were present or working.
‘Just getting ahead of potential narratives,’ Watkins said.
Watkins said that should Maxwell ‘vanish…it would not [be] by her own hand.’
‘She also doesn’t do drugs, is in good health, and works out everyday, so no “old age” or “natural causes” arguments will work either,’ Watkins wrote.
