Travis Kelce sent Taylor Swift wild with his first touchdown of the 2026 NFL season – before being awkwardly asked about the notion he is ‘some fat guy’.

Kelce rolled back the years as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Indianapolis Colts in overtime as he continued his hot start to his 14th NFL season.

‘That’s my husband!’ screamed the pop superstar as Kelce caught a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes to score the Chiefs’ first touchdown in the first quarter.

Swift was at Arrowhead Stadium alongside her parents – Scott and Andrea Swift – and her mother-in-law Donna Kelce, and pointed to her ring as she went wild in celebration.

Kelce ended the game with nine catches for 101 yards as the Chiefs edged out the Colts 33-30 in overtime.

After the game, he was interviewed on SportsCenter, where he faced an awkward question over photos of him that surfaced in the offseason questioning his weight and conditioning.

Travis Kelce was asked about the idea he is ‘some fat guy’ after his latest Chiefs win

Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, went wild in the stands pointing to her ring celebrating his TD

Kelce returned to training camp after a busy summer during which he tied the knot with Swift in a lavish Madison Square Garden wedding ceremony.

ESPN host Scott Van Pelt asked Kelce: ‘I make fun of people that make too much out of preseason talk. There was a picture that went viral of you in camp as if you were some fat guy.

‘And you and your brother had some fun with that. There’s been a lot made of the shape you’re in, but I’m interested in it, because it showed tonight, man.

‘It’s a roll back the clock night in a lot of ways. How different do you feel if I’m right in saying the shape you’re in is showing on the tape right now?’.

Kelce replied insisting he is in top shape and has little concern about his visible appearance, only his on-field output.

He replied: ‘You know what, I can’t say enough about the support system and the people that I have around me and just the ability to focus in on the goal and task, and one of them through training camp was to get in the best shape of my life.

‘Coach Reid set the bar high for everyone in that building to get through training camp, and training camp was a lot of dog days.

‘It whipped us all into shape and I’m thankful for it, because as you could see, in overtime of the second game of the season, in the heat, our team prevailed.

‘It’s not as much about the shape that I look like I’m in, it’s about the grit that I have and the heart that I have to get that ball north and find a way to get a victory for our team.’

Kelce had another big night with over 100 receiving yards including his first quarter score

Kelce and the Chiefs are now 2-0 after winning in overtime against the Indianapolis Colts

The Chiefs are now 2-0 to start the season and will head to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 3 next Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes’ red-hot return from his season-ending torn ACL has generated plenty of excitement at Arrowhead Stadium, and Kelce was effusive in his praise of his teammate.

‘I can’t say enough about who that guy is as a person, how he leads this team, and how he just shows up every single day,’ Kelce said.

’15 is one of the best fathers, one of the best husbands, and one of the best teammates I’ve ever played with. You saw his fight and his ability to will this team to win tonight.

‘I can’t say enough about what 15 means to this organization, this city, and this team.’
