Showing off their great form heading into “Moment of Truth” this Saturday, November 22nd at the Rubén Rodríguez Coliseum in Bayamón, Juan Manuel “Juanma” López, Stephanie “La Medicina” Piñeiro, Juan “Juancito” Zayas, Jaycob “Baki” Gómez, Abisael “El Sobrino” Cotto, Manuel “El Feroz” Febus and José “Joselito” Díaz gave a small sample of what they will present in the ring, this in an open training session held at the Universal Promotions Boxing Gym in San Juan.
The main event of the evening will be a four-round bout between former two-division world champion Juanma López and influencer Jonathann “Gallo the Producer” Rosario.
“I’m ready to step into the ring and put on a great show for everyone,” López said. “I’m well-prepared. This isn’t a ‘show,’ this is a real fight. I’m going to step into the ring to please all the boxing fans and shut this guy up. He doesn’t know the kind of trouble he’s gotten himself into. I’m going to knock him out.”
In the main event, WBA Interim Welterweight (147 lbs) World Champion Stephanie Piñeiro (9-0, 3 KOs) will make the first defense of her title against former two-division world champion Anahí Sánchez (26-6, 13 KOs).
“I’m very excited for this great opportunity to return home and defend my championship,” said the Bayamón native. “Anahí is a tremendous fighter with a lot of experience. Her losses have been against the best in women’s boxing. This Saturday, we’re going to be in great shape and put on a great fight. We’re going to give her a good dose of medicine.”
In another of the featured bouts, Juan Zayas (13-0-1, 10 KOs) will look to capture the WBO NABO bantamweight (118 lbs) title when he faces Ephraim “The Effect” Bui (10-1, 8 KOs).
WBA Continental Gold super featherweight (130 lbs) champion Jaycob “Baki” Gomez (13-0-1, 7 KOs) will take on former Olympian Luis Porozo.
Also on the card are Abisael Cotto, Manuel Febus, Jose Diaz, Felix Caraballo, Diego Nieves, Mario Rodriguez, Christopher Jaime, and others.
The fighters completed several rounds of shadowboxing, heavy bag work, speed bag work, and mitt work.
The fight card will feature a total of 10 exciting bouts to delight sports fans.
