Tragedy as body is found near NAB headquarters in Melbourne’s Docklands amid talk of widespread redundancies

By ASHLEY NICKEL, NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA

    Published: 00:46 EST, 5 March 2026 | Updated: 01:19 EST, 5 March 2026

Victoria Police have responded to reports of a body in Melbourne CBD.

It’s understood the body was found outside the NAB office in Docklands, Melbourne, on Thursday afternoon.

‘Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a man in Docklands on March 5,’ Victoria Police said in a statement.

‘The body of a man, who is yet to be formally identified, was located on Bourke Street about 2pm.

‘This death is not being treated as suspicious.’

Unconfirmed reports suggest the man fell from the NAB office’s rooftop, 14 storeys off the ground.

It’s understood workers at NAB have been offered counselling services.

The news comes amid reports of widespread redundancies in NAB.

Several workers shared documents with Australian commentator The Aussie Corporate claiming the company had brought in a ‘revolving door of consultants’ ahead of ‘mass redundancies’.
