The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has officially inaugurated the Governing Board of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) at a brief but significant ceremony held in the conference room of the Ministry in Accra.

In her address, the minister charged the newly constituted board to remain resolute and committed to the development and promotion of Ghana’s Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts sectors.

She emphasised the board’s strategic role in shaping policy, supporting innovation, and driving the growth of tourism as a vital contributor to the national economy.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, my address will not be complete without thanking His Excellency, the visionary President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, for appointing this calibre of people as Board Members for the Ghana Tourism Authority Governing Board to assist me in running the sector,” Hon. Gomashie said.

“I know you will work to justify the confidence reposed in you.”

Madam Suweibatu Adam, a member of the governing board, on behalf of members conveyed their sincere appreciation to the minister for the trust reposed in them and affirmed their unwavering commitment to contributing meaningfully to the advancement of the sector.

Abla Dzifa Gomashie in her closing statements urged the board to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the tourism and creative arts value chain, and to bring fresh ideas that would position Ghana as a competitive and attractive tourist destination both regionally and globally.
