As the community gears up for the 2025 Amedzofe Tourism Day celebration, Torgbe Okusie Avati X, Chief of Amedzofe in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, has passionately appealed to government to urgently reconstruct and upgrade roads leading to the community’s tourist attractions.

Speaking ahead of the celebration scheduled for September 27, Torgbe Avati X highlighted the critical role Amedzofe plays in promoting eco-tourism in the Volta Region. Known for its breathtaking mountainous views, rich culture, and serene environment, the community has long been considered one of the region’s hidden gems. However, poor road networks continue to deter tourists and limit the economic potential of the area.

“Our land is blessed with beautiful landscapes and natural attractions that can boost tourism and generate significant revenue for the nation. Unfortunately, the deplorable nature of our roads remains a major barrier to accessibility. As we prepare to host this year’s Amedzofe Tourism Day, we humbly call on government to prioritize the reconstruction of these roads to give visitors a smooth and memorable experience,” the Chief stated.

Torgbe Avati X emphasized that improving the road network would not only enhance the tourism experience but also create jobs, encourage investment, and improve livelihoods for the people of Amedzofe and surrounding communities.

Community members and stakeholders in the tourism sector have also echoed the Chief’s call, noting that improved infrastructure is a crucial step toward making Amedzofe a top destination for both local and international tourists.

The 2025 Tourism Day celebration in Amedzofe is expected to attract thousands of visitors, including government officials, international tourists, and cultural enthusiasts. With the theme centered on “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” stakeholders believe that fixing the roads will be a strong demonstration of Ghana’s commitment to sustainable tourism development.
