The 2026 Damba Table Tennis Championship is set to take place on May 30 at the Tamale Senior High School Old Assembly Hall, with organizers promising an exciting competition featuring some of Ghana’s top players.
The tournament, which has grown in popularity over recent years, will host male and female singles events with attractive cash prizes for outstanding performers. Winners in both categories will receive GHS10,000 each, while runners-up will earn GHS5,000. Joint third-place finishers are also expected to receive GHS3,000 each.
Organizers have announced several welfare packages for participants and officials, including free accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the competition.
A major highlight of this year’s edition will be a special safari trip to Mole National Park for the top 16 players, adding a tourism experience to the sporting event.
The championship has become one of the notable competitions on Ghana’s local table tennis calendar following two successful editions. Defending champions James Marfo and Augustina Baidoo won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the previous edition.
Organizers believe the tournament will continue to promote table tennis development in Northern Ghana while boosting sports tourism in Tamale through its blend of competition, culture, and hospitality.
