CAF Media Officer, Ibrahim Saanie Daara has said that some top officials within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) are not happy with the conduct of Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation.
According to Saanie Daara, the decision of Kofi Adams to publish the budget of the Black Stars two days to the game against Chad was wrong and even his party officials are not happy with the decision.
In an interview with Sporty FM on Friday, September 8, 2025, Saanie Daara said Black Stars budgets are submitted weeks before the games so the Minister had a lot of time to publish it to the media.
“A lot of people in the Minister’s own party are not happy with the decision he took. Top NDC officials who have spoken to me are all not happy because the decision to make the budget two days to the game was very wrong.”
Ibrahim Saanie Daara urged the Minister to get his timing right and not adopt a populist approach.

“Budgets are sent months in advance so if he had nothing to say, he could have said it but let the timing be right. Don’t be populist, he could have even cut the budget to 1 dollar but the timing was very wrong,” Saanie Daara ended.
The Black Stars on Thursday, September 4, 2025, drew 1-1 against Chad in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N’Djamena.
