The convener of Fix the Country, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has declared his full commitment to fight any system that seeks to exploit the poor to the advantage of a privileged few.

Explaining the passion behind his advocacy for Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), he said that poverty is created by a class of people who exploit the system to enrich themselves at the expense of the poor.

In an emotional piece on his X account on April 20, 2025, the social activist recounted how his background feeds into his drive to fight for justice.

The legal practitioner recounted how he rose from the doldrums of poverty because his father’s situation left him no choice but to embrace knowledge acquisition at an early age to break the cycle of poverty in his family.

“Poverty is not fate. It is man-made. And we can fix it,” a part of his post on X read.

He expressed disgust for the class of people who exploit the system to their advantage while the masses wallow in poverty.

He reiterated his commitment to fight injustices by the affluent and powerful till equal opportunities abound for all people.

He consequently declared his full support for ORAL, as a means to combat any injustices that seek to keep people in lack and deprivation.

“Plunder can be made legal too. To make looting legal isn’t Justice,” he said.

He strongly also argued that he remains the voice of the poor and would go any length to ensure justice is served in creating the right environment for all people to thrive.

    2. I grew up surrounded by poverty. It wasn’t just beside us—it enveloped us. It shaped how we interacted with the world, with our friends, and with our dreams. It put a ceiling on our imagination of what was… pic.twitter.com/LXrtnpa8Jr
