The Chairman of the FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has announced that the semi-finals and final of the 2024/25 competition will be played at the Tarkwa and Aboso (TnA) Stadium and the University of Ghana (UG) Stadium, respectively.

Following the conclusion of the preliminary fixtures, the stage is set for the Round of 64 of this season’s FA Cup, with some exciting matches to look forward to.

In the 2023/24 season, the semi-finals were held at the WAFA Park in Sogakope, while the final was played at the University of Ghana Stadium, where Nsoatreman FC triumphed over Bofoakwa Tano 5-4 on penalties.

Speaking in an interview on Max FM, Wilson Arthur disclosed that unlike last season, the semi-finals of the current campaign will be held at the TnA Stadium, while the University of Ghana Stadium will continue to host the final.

“The decision has been made that all finals will be played at the Legon Stadium throughout our tenure. However, the semi-finals are likely to be played at the Tarkwa TnA Park,” he said.

Arthur also explained how the committee is working to ensure increased publicity for the competition but urged clubs to take responsibility for promoting their games.

“This time, we had a live draw and did extensive media coverage in Accra. We have a media network, so once we do the pairings, they take over and start promoting the matches.”

“But the promotion of matches is the responsibility of the clubs. We just have to market the brands and images. If the clubs promote well and attract lots of fans, they will benefit financially,” he explained.

The competition resumes on Friday, November 29, 2024, with Legon Cities taking on Home Stars FC at the University of Ghana Stadium, Okwawu United visiting Attram De Visser SC, and Rainmasters FC facing Bechem United.
