Shina Peller, a Nigerian entrepreneur and politician has clarified that the popular Nigerian TikToker, Peller, is not a member of the renowned Peller family.
The TikToker, Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, is a 19-year-old Nigerian content creator, singer, actor, and comedian.
He has gained a massive following on TikTok, with over 5 million followers, and has collaborated with other popular creators and celebrities.
In an interview with Channels Television, Shina Peller explained that the name “Peller” was given to his father as a magician, and it’s a name that the family has adopted since then.
He shared further that the TikToker, despite sharing the same last name, is unrelated to them. He however praised the TikToker for being “smart” in using the name to gain fame.
In his words, “So Peller, the comedian, is not a member of the Peller family. It’s a successful name. He’s just being smart. He’s been able to pop with the name. You can’t blame him, but I can tell you categorically that he’s not a member of the Peller family.”
The clarification is timely, as many Nigerians had been speculating about a possible link between the viral content creator and the influential Peller family.
