Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey made his debut for Villareal in the club’s final pre-season friendly game against Premier League side Aston Villa on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Thomas Partey was introduced in the 73rd minute but he couldn’t really help his team as they were already trailing Aston Villa 2-0 before his introduction in the game.

Despite his inability to change the game, the presence of Thomas Partey brought some sort of stability to the midfield of Villareal to maintain the 2-0 score line.

Aston Villa beat Villareal 2-0 at the Estadio de la Ceramica just over 24 hours after losing 3-1 to Marseille at the Stade Velodrome in France.

Villa manager, Unai Emery returned to his former club and saw his side secure victory thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia.

The result means Villa picked up four wins, two draws and two defeats from their summer friendlies before their Premier League opener at home to Newcastle United on Saturday.
