Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey delivered a solid second-half performance in Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Preston North End on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, as the Gunners secured a spot in the EFL Cup quarter-finals.

Although Partey was initially named on the bench, he became an influential presence in the second half, contributing to a dominant team display.

Called on by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta at halftime, Partey replaced defender Jurrien Timber. His efforts earned him a solid 7.1 rating, showcasing his skill in distribution, ball control, and tactical awareness.

Arsenal took the lead in the first half, with Gabriel Jesus netting the opener in the 24th minute after a well-timed pass from Jakub Kiwior. Soon after, Ethan Nwaneri extended the lead with a goal in the 33rd minute, capitalising on another assist from Jesus.

The Gunners continued to dominate in the second half, bolstered by Partey’s presence on the field. In the 57th minute, Kai Havertz sealed the win with a third goal, once again assisted by Kiwior, underscoring Arsenal’s fluid teamwork and relentless attack.

Partey’s impactful second-half outing played a key role in Arsenal’s success, helping the team progress smoothly to the EFL Cup quarter-finals.
