Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey was the subject of boos and jeers during Arsenal’s FA Cup match against Manchester United on Sunday, January 12, 2024.

Partey replaced Dutch defender Jurrien Timber in extra time of the FA Cup third-round tie and was met with jeers from Manchester United fans.

Every touch of the 31-year-old was met with noises of disapproval from the Manchester United fans who occupied the away end of the Emirates Stadium.

Partey braved through the boos to score his penalty for Arsenal during the penalty shootout.

Bruno Fernandes gave Manchester United the lead with an excellent finish after Garnacho took advantage of Gabriel Magalhães’s slip and quickly passed to the midfielder.

Unfortunately for United, Diego Dalot was sent off in the 61st minute after committing a dangerous foul, giving Arsenal an advantage.

The Gunners then took control of the game, mounting pressure on Manchester United, which led to defender Gabriel scoring the equalizer.

Arsenal could not make the most of the numerical advantage as the game finished 1-1 by the end of extra time.

A Kai Havertz penalty miss meant that Manchester United won the game 5-4 and advanced to the fourth round of the competition.
