Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has opened up on undergoing surgery on her arm for the fifth time.

Speaking on Onua TV on August 25, 2025, she candidly shared her health journey, revealing the emotional and financial toll the repeated procedures have taken on her.

“This is the fifth time I’ve had surgery on my hand. The accident happened once, but the injury keeps recurring. I’ve spent a lot of money on it. I asked myself, what if it wasn’t me? What if it were someone who couldn’t afford the cost? That person might have given up and had the hand amputated,” she said.

Nana Ama McBrown has since undergone multiple surgeries both in Ghana and abroad in her quest for full recovery.

She noted that despite the difficulties, she has maintained a sense of optimism.

“The accident happened, but God spared my life, and it was only my arm that was affected. I prayed to Him to fix it, and He did. I’m the breadwinner of my family, so I still have to work. It’s been almost 13 years, and I’ve just been working with one hand,” McBrown stated.

She said she is now recovering fully and intends to be more cautious with her hand moving forward.

“Sometimes when I’m hosting a show, I forget my hand is still hurting, and I try to keep the energy up. But this time around, I will be extra cautious. I can now move my hand without feeling pain, and I thank God for that,” McBrown added.
