A former Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea, has condemned the actions of national security operatives for allegedly invading the home of the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Nana Akomea, the nature of the raid amounts to robbery, stressing that no credible national security agency should operate in such a manner by breaking into private property and causing destruction.

“What happened is tantamount to robbery. If someone enters your house and destroys your gate, destroys your things, if that’s what national security does, then they’re no different from armed robbers,” Akomea said on a panel discussion on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo.

He further questioned the professionalism of the operatives involved, stating that national security has no business resorting to what he described as “burglary-like tactics.”

“If national security can break into people’s homes and destroy things, then we are all in danger,” he added.

Akomea emphasized that if Dr Bawumia’s ADC, who is a serving police officer, can be treated in such a manner, then no citizen is safe.

“If the person is not home and you break into their house, if that’s national security, then is that how a security agency should behave?” he asked.

National Security Operatives reportedly raided the residence of DSP Issahaku Yakubu on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the operatives used force to break into the house.
