Sammy Flex, manager of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding MC Portfolio and the GH₵5,000 gift from Shatta.

MC Portfolio, a staunch supporter of Stonebwoy, has faced accusations of “betrayal” from scores of individuals, including his colleagues DJ Slim and Sally Mann, after accepting the money from Shatta Wale on Adom TV.

But speaking on the issue in a detailed response on his YouTube channel, Sammy Flex has defended MC Portfolio.

He explained that Shatta Wale’s intention was simply to show appreciation for past support MC Portfolio had rendered him and that the gift was not meant to cause any division between Portfolio and Stonebwoy.

“This has been the industry’s problem for the past week, if not weeks. If you pay attention to the video, Shatta was clear that ‘I don’t have a problem with you supporting Stonebwoy. Stonebwoy needs support, and if you are supporting him, that’s fine. I just want to appreciate you for the work you’ve done in the past, which I didn’t get a chance to acknowledge before… and this is the headache of some people,’” Sammy Flex stated.

He also criticised DJ Slim and Sally Mann, accusing them of trying to create conflict between MC Portfolio and Stonebwoy, while also disrespecting Shatta Wale in the process.

“According to DJ Slim and Sally Mann, they wanted Portfolio to disrespect Shatta Wale, to even throw the money back at him. That’s what they were hoping for. These same people, after all this, will sit on their platforms and discuss how some artistes don’t want peace in the industry. Look at what they are doing.

“In all their presentations, some things were obvious. They kept saying Stonebwoy should be careful of MC Portfolio. They want to destroy his relationship with Stonebwoy. That’s what they’re after,” Sammy Flex claimed.

Offering a piece of advice to MC Portfolio, Sammy Flex urged him to be cautious of people in the industry who may not have his best interests at heart.

“Be strong. I keep telling you, the industry is like that. If you think everybody loves you, here you are. This is what many of the top people are going through. People in the industry that they consider their friends, this is what they do to them. Very unfortunate. But to Portfolio, you’ll be fine.

“When these issues came up, I was in Kumasi and didn’t get a chance to speak about it, but I was seeing videos and reports, and I was thinking, ‘Are people really this wicked? Can people be this cruel?’ But anyways, we leave it to God,” he added.

    Background:?

The controversy began on November 22, 2024, during Shatta Wale’s media tour in the Ashanti Region, when he offered GH₵5,000 to MC Portfolio, a strong supporter of Stonebwoy.

This gesture sparked criticism, with many accusing Portfolio of betraying Stonebwoy, among other claims.
