The Chief of Defence Staff, (CDS) Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has said that the victims of the helicopter crash will be remembered for their dedication, professionalism and service to the nation.

In a tribute at the state funeral for the victims on Friday, August 15, 2025, he stated that the late Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah’s short tenure at the Ministry was impactful.

“Dr Omane Boamah’s short tenure as Minister of Defence was marked by transformative leadership, innovation and unwavering commitment to excellence. As part of a broader agenda of ‘“Resetting Ghana,’ he advocated and implemented policies that sought to raise the standards of the Ghana Armed Forces,” he said.
