Hazard is a Chelsea legend Hazard is a Chelsea legend

Eden Hazard has shared his thoughts on Chelsea’s teenage sensation Estevao, after the Brazilian admitted he wants to follow in the footsteps of the former Blues star.

The 18-year-old winger, who joined Chelsea this summer from Palmeiras, has already made an impression in the Premier League.

In just two appearances, he has provided an assist and shown flashes of his blistering pace and fearless dribbling – qualities that instantly drew comparisons with Hazard in his prime.

Speaking during the UEFA Europa League and Conference League draw on Friday, August 29, 2025, Hazard admitted he was flattered by Estevao’s admiration, but urged caution when it comes to comparisons.

“They want to be like me, but they are not gonna be like me. They can try, which is not easy, but it’s beautiful to be an idol of young players,” Hazard said.

Hazard, who retired in 2023 after a decorated career that included two Premier League titles and two Europa League trophies at Chelsea, remains one of the club’s most iconic players.

His influence at Stamford Bridge continues to echo, with Estevao now the latest to draw inspiration from his legacy.
