Gospel musician Perez Musik has responded to concerns about a perceived lack of unity within the gospel music fraternity in Ghana.

Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb TV’s Isaac Dadzie on Talkertainment, he argued that what some see as division is a natural diversity within the community.

Drawing reference to the apostles, who went their separate ways after their time with Jesus Christ, Perez Musik stated that he does not see any division within the gospel music industry, only diversion.

“If they say that, then they’ve not really read their Bible. Yes. Because even the apostles, even after they were done with Jesus Christ, they didn’t come together to start a church or start a ministry together. Everybody went their way.

“So I don’t think it’s division. I think it’s a diversion. These are two different things. Diversion. Because we are all meant to reach different audiences at different times and in different places. So there’s diversity. You may think that there’s division. There’s no division for me. I think it’s diverse. And if we can respect each other in that manner, we are good,” he stated.

When asked about the music industry’s major challenges, Perez Musik replied, “Money. There’s no money. People don’t invest in the art, and this goes beyond gospel music.”

He called for proper investment from Ghanaian investors, the government, institutions, and individuals who genuinely care about the growth and success of Ghanaian artistes.

Perez Musik said this at the 3rd edition of the Made by Grace concert at the Accra International Conference Center on November 3, 2024.

The event, hosted by renowned gospel minister Piesie Esther, saw performances from a host of renowned gospel musicians, including Ohemaa Mercy, Cece Twum and Amy Newman, creating unforgettable memories of praise and worship.
