Nigerian rapper and founder of the YBNL Nation record label, Olamide, has tagged African music as one of the best in the world.

In an interview with BBC Africa, Olamide noted that African music is unique and no rhythms from elsewhere can match the genres created by African artists.

“There is nowhere in the world where they have rhythm like us in Africa,” he said.

He additionally addressed rumours that he has a personal feud with former signee Asake.

Olamide is the only artiste I featured on my ‘REIGN’ album – Shatta Wale

According to Olamide, his relationship with Asake and all other artistes who have exited his label remains the same, adding that he considers Asake’s withdrawal from YBNL as business.

“My relationship with Asake? Yeah, we’re family still, and that is my brother for life. It is the same thing with me and everyone of my people. Business is never personal.”

“After business, life still goes on. Creativity and business are really hard, but I try my best to get my management team to align with me on business conversations, so it makes it much easier for me to handle the creative part,” he added.
