Benjamin Asare’s recent form between the sticks has been nothing short of outstanding.

The Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper has emerged as one of the most in-form shot-stoppers in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), racking up an impressive run of clean sheets that highlights his growing influence on the Phobians.

His remarkable performances have caught the attention of fans and pundits alike, earning him a starting spot for the Black Stars in his first national team call-up.

But just how good has Asare been? Let’s take a closer look at the numbers behind his outstanding form.

In 21 appearances for club and country during the 2024/25 season, Asare has kept an astonishing 15 clean sheets, 13 in the GPL and two for the Black Stars, conceding just eight goals across all competitions.

Since 2020, the former Great Olympics goalkeeper has recorded 48 clean sheets in 96 matches for both club and the national team, a testament to his consistency and growth over the years.

Most impressively, Asare has conceded just one goal in his last nine games, a run spanning 810 minutes of football.

During this period, he kept clean sheets against Chad and Madagascar on his Black Stars debut, while also shutting out GPL champions Samartex, Heart of Lions, and Legon Cities.

As captain, Asare’s performances have secured crucial points for Hearts of Oak as they battle to win the title at the end of the season.

Notable performances include his Man of the Match (MOTM) showing against Medeama SC on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

With a game against newly promoted side Vision FC coming up next on Friday, April 11, 2025, Asare will be hopeful of adding another clean sheet to his impressive record.
