Thomas Partey has been accused of rape Thomas Partey has been accused of rape

Thomas Partey appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, where prosecutors formally presented six serious charges against him, including five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three different women.

Partey, who is 32 years old, gave his name, date of birth, and address during the brief hearing but made no comment regarding the charges.

The former Arsenal and current Black Stars player was granted conditional bail ahead of a full hearing scheduled for September 2, 2025, at the Old Bailey in London.

Reading out the charges in court, prosecutor Jocelyn Ledward KC detailed a timeline of alleged incidents spanning from 2021 to 2022.

The first charge relates to an alleged anal rape involving Complainant 1, said to have occurred between April and May 2021.

According to the prosecution, the complainant and Partey were engaging in consensual vaginal intercourse when he allegedly penetrated her anus without her consent.

The matter was reported to police in February 2022, with Partey arrested and questioned in July that year.

A second charge involving the same complainant refers to a series of alleged anal rapes between April and June 2021.

The prosecution claims Partey assaulted her in this manner on at least four occasions without consent.

He later attended a voluntary interview regarding this allegation in November 2024.

The third and fourth charges involve a second woman. In December 2021, Partey is accused of vaginally raping Complainant 2 after she explicitly told him she did not want to have sex.

Despite her refusal, he is alleged to have proceeded with non-consensual intercourse. She reported the matter to police in February 2025, and Partey was interviewed in March of the same year.

In a separate incident with the same woman, the fourth charge alleges that in February 2022, Partey requested anal sex, which the woman declined.

Prosecutors claim he then penetrated her anally without her consent. This was reported in September 2022, though the charge was not addressed during Partey’s voluntary interview in March 2025.

The fifth charge relates to an incident that allegedly occurred in Marbella, Spain, in June 2022.

The prosecution alleges that Partey raped Complainant 2 vaginally during that trip. He was interviewed by police about this in July 2022.

The final charge involves Complainant 3 and is classified as sexual assault. In February 2022, the woman visited Partey at his residence.

It is alleged that he lay on top of her, attempted to kiss her, and touched her body over her clothes without consent.

The complainant reportedly attempted to push him off and he eventually stopped. Partey later took part in a voluntary interview in February 2023.

Following the reading of the charges, the court imposed bail conditions including a ban on contacting any of the complainants, a requirement to inform authorities of any change of address, and prior disclosure of any plans to travel.
