Legendary Ghanaian DJ and former radio sensation, Azigiza Jnr, has shared a powerful and emotional account of his transformation from a life of partying and smoking to answering the call of God.
In a deep conversation, he revealed how a series of spiritual encounters forced him to abandon his old lifestyle and embrace the path of ministry.
According to him, what started off as a fun-filled, hyperactive youth soon became an uneasy experience as his connection with the nightclub scene began to feel burdensome.
“I used to smoke cigarettes, I was naturally hyper so I never really liked alcohol. But it got to a point where cigarette became bitter, and whenever I climbed the stairs to Glenn’s nightclub, it felt like the weight of the world had been placed on me,” he stated.
Azigiza’s turning point came when he began having repeated spiritual experiences, even in his sleep.
“If I decided not to go to Glenn’s, the heaviness would lift. But when I slept, I’d hear nothing but scriptures being read. Bro, the prayers of a mother it works,” he said with conviction.
He described the entire experience as being “arrested by God,” a phrase he used to explain the divine pull that shifted his focus from fame and partying to faith and purpose.
Once one of the hottest names on the turntables in Ghana’s entertainment scene, Azigiza’s transformation shocked many fans at the time, but has since inspired countless others.
Today, he is known not just for his influence in the early days of hiplife and entertainment, but for his work in ministry and personal transformation.
