Gospel musician Mavis Asante has expressed belief that lack of love in the Ghanaian gospel industry is holding back its progress.
In an interview with GhanaWeb TV’s Takertainment during Piesie Esther’s “Made by Grace” concert, the “Don Barima” singer emphasised that love and unity among gospel musicians are essential for elevating Ghanaian music on a global scale.
“I think the only thing we lack as gospel musicians is love. From Genesis to Revelation, the message is full of love,” she stated.
“So if we are doing the work of God without love, then we have a problem. I’m not talking about hypocritical love, but love that comes from within. With genuine love, we can push gospel music beyond what we even think,” she added.
