    Nollywood actress Sunshine Rosman has sparked conversation online after sharing a bold statement about the treatment of women in Nigeria.

    In a post shared via her Instagram Story, the actress did not mince words, stating that she believes Nigerian society harbors deep-seated hatred towards women.

    “Nobody can convince me otherwise, so keep your comments to yourself. The Nigerian society genuinely hates Women.” She wrote

    The actress’s post quickly gained attention, with many social media users agreeing with her strong assertion.

    Though the actress did not elaborate on what prompted the post, it adds to the growing discourse around gender inequality and misogyny.

    Below are some of the comments;

    “A woman was assaulted in his matrimonial home by her husband, and suddenly, she’s the one to be blamed.”

    “There’s patriarchy and there’s Nigerian patriarchy.“

    “A country where a female senator cannot even get justice.“

    “There’s Patriarchy, There’s Nigerian Patriarchy, There’s Igbo Patriarchy, and then Anambra Patriarchy.”

    “Exactly! That’s why anytime they hear feminism body go dey pepper them.”

    “Zero support for domestic violence victims, Low rate of girl child education, Genital mutilation, Child sex marriage, 1 in 10 girls are sexually abused, Honour killings in the north, Low percentage of women in politics, Gender pay gap, The country with the highest rates of women in poverty, High mortality rate for women through domestic violence and child birth. The list goes on and on.“
