National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate Millicent Yeboah Amankwah unseated Nsoatreman FC owner Ignatius Baffour Awuah to claim the Sunyani West constituency seat in the Bono Region during the 2024 elections.

Millicent will serve in parliament for the first time in her budding political career following a resounding victory in the elections.

She amassed 26,828 to claim the seat while Baffour Awauh fell short with 19,716.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where she served as the SRC Women’s Commissioner.

Millicent earned the right to contest for the Sunyani West seat after defeating the NDC’s previous parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Justice Samuel Adjei, in the party primaries.

She achieved a tremendous triumph in the 2024 elections, defeating incumbent Ignatius Baffour Awuah, who had held the seat since 2013 on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Millicent Yeboah Amankwah is a Child Rights Advocate, Executive Director of Success Initiative Consult (SIC), and a philanthropist with a strong passion for supporting the underprivileged.
