The Immigration Officer noted that Asibey appears to spend more time with the athletes than with his own family, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to the sport.

Speaking in an interview with Joel Eshun on Sorts Check aired on GhanaWeb TV, Sackey said, “He [Asibey] tries to make time for us. I don’t think he spends more time with his family than with his athletes. He’s always checking on us. If things aren’t going well, he calls you.

“If you can’t make it to training, he wants to know why. He knows when we’re training and when we’re not. So, when he says, ‘I know my people will deliver,’ he truly means it.”

He also stated that the World Armwrestling Federation Vice President’s high expectations for the team ahead of major competitions do not create pressure but rather serve as motivation.

“Before your leader comes out and says something, you know what he’s standing on. He’s always pushing us to train. And when you see your leader on TV saying, ‘My people are going to bring me this,’ he mentioned more than 30 medals. You, the athlete, have no excuse.

“Do you want to let your leader down? No. So you work extra hard to bring him the joy he deserves. He’s always on us,” Sackey added.
