Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has expressed strong displeasure over fresh claims suggesting that the funeral date of the late highlife icon may be changed again.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on November 22, 2025, Arnold explained that the traditional authorities had already listened to all parties involved, including those who had taken the matter to court and reached a clear decision regarding the funeral arrangements.

According to him, several contentious issues came up during the traditional mediation process, including the autopsy, widowhood rites, composition of the funeral committee, and the funeral date itself.

However, the traditional rulers handled the matter fairly and agreed to set December 13 as the final date.

“When we got to the traditional settings, a couple of issues came up. Autopsy matter came up, funeral date came up, funeral committee issues also came up and other related issues, including the widowhood rite, the traditional rulers didn’t pay attention to that.

“During the sitting, the traditional rulers listened to all the sides because they knew the issue was already sent to court. They decided to sit over it and listen to everyone,” he said.

Arnold noted that none of the factions raised objections after the traditional rulers gave their ruling.

“When they listened to all the parties, they said they would then move the funeral date to December 13. When the two parties left the traditional rulers’ side, they didn’t complain because they believed the court had given its verdict, but they were not satisfied and the case was moved to the traditional rulers. It wasn’t as if they were biased; they listened to everyone’s view and they set the date,” he shared.

For this reason, Arnold finds it troubling that musician Papa Shee is now claiming to have held private discussions that allegedly changed the date to March 14.

“Now, how come Papa Shee claimed that he had conversations with some of the family members so they would have to move the date from December 13 to March 14. Why didn’t he go to the traditional rulers first to seek redress? What kind of confusion is he trying to create?” he fumed.

Arnold emphasised that billboards and official communications have already been released with the December 13 date, making it irresponsible for anyone to start spreading a conflicting date on media platforms.

“Now he’s trying to query and question what the elders said. What kind of nonsense is this? The confusion is too much. Billboards are already mounted the date is December 13, now you’re gallivanting from station to station saying the funeral will be held on March 14, why?” he added.
