All practical jokes must be carried out by midday or it is said you risk becoming the April Fool instead.
As usual some of the country’s favourite brands have used today as a marketing opportunity with a series of hilarious product releases.
These include meatball lollipops from Ikea, Wickes’ moon-powered panels and a Dyson Airwrap fit for a cat.

Dyson this morning released a new pet range, describing it as its boldest beauty category launch yet.
One of the new products is a Dyson Airwrap fit for a cat. The hairdryer is described as ‘slim and feline-friendly’ perfect for curling ‘delicate chest fluff’.
Another item is the ‘Supersonic Dapper’ – a ‘dryer with a tension comb‑style accessory, perfect for dialling up the volume on poodle curls’.
A spokesperson for the company said: ‘Dyson is set to unveil what might be its boldest beauty category launch yet, a fully engineered styling range designed not just for humans, but for our furrier and fluffier companions.

Home improvement retailer Wickes today left homeowners ‘over the moon’ as it unveiled its new lunar panel range.
The tongue-in-cheek concept for April Fool’s Day claims to capture the power of the moon using specialist technology.
A spokesperson for Wickes said: ‘While a moon-powered home may still be a dream, solar power is very much a reality.

Tesco shared the release on its TikTok account with the caption: ‘Send this to a gym head.’

Dole today announced the launch of its latest culinary innovation, Tinned Hawaiian Pizza.
Fully assembled, the famously divisive pizza comes sealed in a tin, designed for maximum convenience and practicality.

Heathrow Express has teamed up with PureGym to launch the UK’s first ever ‘Training Train’.
Available from April 1, the new service transforms the iconic 15-minute Heathrow Express journey from Paddington into a high-energy fitness experience.
It will give passengers the chance to stretch, squat and sweat their way to the terminal before they’ve even had time to misplace their passport.
