On this day, August 21, 1995, Black Stars striker, Anthony Yeboah scored one of the greatest goals in the history of the Premier League against Liverpool.
The thunderous volley strike against Liverpool announced Anthony Yeboah, a striker who had dominated the Bundesliga playing for Eintracht Frankfurt to Premier League fans.
The goal scored at Elland Road secured a crucial 1-0 win for Leeds United who had come up against a strong Liverpool team made up of Robbie Fowler, John Barnes, and Stan Collymore.
That wasn’t the only magic goal Tony Yeboah scored that season because he produced another rocket against Wimbledon that was voted as the BBC Goal of the Season in the 1995/1996 Premier League season.
Tony Yeboah’s name soon became synonymous with thunderous strikes in the Premier League as Leeds United fans were regularly given goals that often brought the roof down at Elland Road.

The former Black Stars striker spent only two years in the Premier League with Leeds United but he left in 1997 as a cult-hero because of the memories he created for the fans.
Tony Yeboah in two years (1995-1997) scored 24 goals for Leeds United in 47 Premier League appearances.
