According to Henry Osei Akoto, a former parliamentary candidate for the Oforikrom seat, the actions of the High Court judge have even startled the Supreme Court judges.

Henry Osei Akoto claims that after hearing Attorney Edudzi Tamakloe speak in the Supreme Court, one can only fathom how Akufo-Addo’s judges are abusing their power in our legal system. Following a decision on December 21, the Accra High Court directed the Electoral Commission to finalize the election results for the six seats and ordered the EC to recollect the results for six unresolved constituencies.

Tema Central, Nsawam-Adoagyir, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central are among the six contested constituencies. “Listen to Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe at the Supreme Court and imagine how Akufo-Addo’s judges are abusing their authority in our courts,” wrote Henry Osei Akoto on X in response to the Supreme Court hearing of the NDC lawsuits. It’s depressing. The actions of the High Court judge have even surprised the judges of the Supreme Court.

However, the High Court judge who mandated the EC’s re-collection of contested constituencies has been charged by the NDC of misconduct and bias. Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, the NDC’s Director of Legal Affairs, said during Friday, December 27 Supreme Court proceedings that the Accra High Court had not given the NDC a chance to make its case.
