The £5 million five-bedroom villa, in a gated community in a particularly wealthy suburb of Dubai, a modern pastiche of the architecture of Moorish Spain, is convenient for both an English-language school and a high-end shopping mall.

And its owner, nipping out in her shiny new £82,000 Nissan Patrol SUV, often takes advantage of these local facilities.

In fact, only one thing distinguishes the smartly dressed blonde school run mum from dozens of other millionaire ex-pats in the exclusive desert compound – she is the wife of Europe’s most notorious gangster, who is currently overseeing a fire sale of £1 billion of assets before they can be seized.

The Daily Mail has tracked down Caoimhe Robinson to her secret luxury base in the emirate – while her husband, organised crime overlord Daniel Kinahan, is languishing in a nearby prison cell awaiting extradition to their native Ireland.

Kinahan’s dramatic arrest two weeks ago was the clearest sign yet that the UAE authorities are no longer content to host a crime dynasty which has controlled much of the cocaine brought into Europe for over a decade, as well as running global money laundering and arms smuggling operations.

The Dubai authorities are understood to have already seized assets belonging to the Kinahans worth £168 million and are intent on impounding more of an organised crime fortune estimated at being worth over £1 billion.

Much of the Kinahans’ property wealth is registered in the name of the 44-year-old mother-of-four – and that she has been busily selling the property empire off to prevent it being seized.

Daniel’s father Christy Kinahan and younger brother Christopher have both gone to ground – as they have $5million rewards on their heads from the US and fear they may join the family’s leader Daniel in the Al Awir Central jail.

The pair are said to be increasingly reluctant to access accounts or move funds online, fearful that even the most routine digital transactions might disclose their exact whereabouts to security agencies.

And with the senior members of the cartel operating under a state of siege, it is left to Caoimhe, operating out of this hitherto clandestine villa, to try to liquify the family’s assets to enable them to move their fortune out of Dubai.

And while many of the family’s assets have been seized or sold, the Hacienda villa appears to have evaded Emirates investigators until now.

Caoimhe, who had kept a remarkably low profile for months until we found her, is not personally accused of any wrongdoing, allowing her to continue on with her normal routine as mother to the two young children she has with Daniel – as well as two older daughters from a previous relationship.

To those working in the local mall, Caoimhe is just another friendly local ‘mom’ – which is exactly how she appeared when caught on camera dressed casually in leggings, a grey t-shirt and large sunglasses.

The house is located in a suburban community called Hacienda, a 30-minute drive into the edges of the desert from the city’s famous Palm Jumeirah landmark.

Hacienda is dotted with luxury villas set in a complex which overlooks copiously watered gardens and green terraces, just a short stroll from the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club.

A UAE flag flies from the balcony of the mansion – a sign perhaps of just how much the couple had taken to Dubai until the tables suddenly turned in regard to their relations with its rulers upon her husband’s arrest on April 15.

The complex, set in the vast Dubailand development, comprises two almost identical residential communities, both gated with full security vetting at each entry point.

The family-focused private neighbourhood is set back from wide, winding roads, lined with date palms, with various play areas and parks across the verdant estates for children.

Nearby is the GEMS FirstPoint School – a premium British school that caters for all ages from three to 18. And just around the corner, for younger children, is the Emirates British Nursery.

There are two separate shopping areas in each of the estates. Both contain a Spinney’s supermarket, while one has a Starbucks and the other has a Costa.

Tennis courts, a beauty salon and pharmacy are all within walking distance of the home.

For years it has been known that Daniel, along with his fellow gangster father Christy, brother Christopher Jr., and his wife, ran a burgeoning property empire throughout the Emirate.

Dubai had initially appeared to be a playground for the Kinahans when they arrived in 2017 after fleeing Spain’s Costa del Sol.

But following the US’s sanctioning of the Kinahan leadership trio – with a $5million reward for each man – most of the properties were placed under Caoimhe’s name to protect them.

Leaked property data from Dubai shows Caoimhe began buying and letting millions of pounds worth of property across the city.

One of the properties the wife of the Irish gangster bought in 2023 was a 20,569-square-foot villa, which was still under construction.

The property – on the same estate as the home Caoimhe is currently living in – was bought at the time for around £1.5million.

In 2022, the unfinished Mediterranean-style villa had been seized after she bought it due to a legal dispute between the previous owner and another party.

After taking it to court, however, Caoimhe managed to reinstate the property in her name and was given £370,000.

It is unclear, due to restrictions surrounding Dubai’s property register, whether Caoimhe still owns this property.

Other documents released showed that in 2022, Caoimhe had owned four different properties across Dubai.

This included a swanky four-bedroom apartment in the Elite Residences tower, which overlooks Dubai Marina. She sold this property for £760,000 in 2024.

In 2018, she had bought an apartment in Al Mesk Tower, which according to the files, had been rented out by the Kinahans’ close associate Ian Dixon.

Caoimhe also had a villa in the Parkway Vistas development, where properties sell for more than £11million. This property was sold in 2022.

Another villa in the Emirates Hill neighbourhood, where some homes sell for a staggering £40million, was bought by Caoimhe and later sold in 2023.

It is unclear whether Daniel was tracked down and finally arrested at his family home, or elsewhere in Dubai, as the particulars of his apprehension remain shrouded in official secrecy.

But we do know that Daniel was dramatically arrested by Dubai Police after a warrant was issued by an Irish Court, over suspicions of directing an organised gang, on April 15.

In the lead up to this officials had been busy identifying and seizing the family’s assets and are thus far said to have impounded £168m worth of property.

Further to this, Dubai Police are said to be working with the ministries of justice to identify a number of other individuals involved in laundering the family’s wealth through various companies they held in the Emirate.

The seizures are said to have had a devastating effect on the family’s cash flow within the UAE, while intelligence has shown they have recently become fearful of making even the most normal of transactions online.

Their avoidance of sites like Amazon comes after the movements of Kinahan Snr are said to have been traced by the monitoring of restaurant reviews he posted.

Christy’s extensive use of Tripadvisor to review cafes and restaurants across the city, was uncovered two years ago.

The Kinahans left Spain in 2016 when their links to the murder of gang rival David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in Dublin meant they felt under too much police scrutiny to remain in Europe.

According to our sources, Daniel Kinahan’s initial visa to enter Dubai was sponsored by Ahmed Seddiqi – one of the biggest figures in boxing in the UAE.

After spending time with Ahmed as his guide to local culture, Daniel is even said to have converted to Islam.

One family friend of the Kinahans told the Daily Mail: ‘He converted to Islam around four or five years ago. He did that when working with his former business partner, Ahmed Seddiqi.

‘Because Daniel was around these local people, these Arab people, of course, he saw how the Islamic culture was and how Islam is good in Dubai.

’He had a lot of questions about his Christian faith. Daniel is an intelligent person. Daniel is not someone who believes ‘I am meant to be Muslim’. No. He asked questions and he researched.’

None of the rest of the family are thought to have followed Daniel’s lead in converting.

It is unclear how or when Ahmed and Daniel first meet, but they are both big figures in the boxing world of the UAE.

Daniel had long been deeply involved in the boxing and MMA (mixed martial arts) scene – having set up his own boxing management firm MTK Global in 2012.

He subsequently worked with some of the sport’s biggest names, including Tyson Fury, who publicly thanked Daniel for setting up his much sought-after fight between him and Anthony Joshua.

MTK however closed in 2022 following those sanctions by the US against the family.

Other businesses Daniel was forced to shut down around the same time included his crypto-trading firm Kokoswap and Ducashew General Trading, a business management consultancy.

Since then, Daniel has been linked to a number of different company operations, most notably TKMMAFIT in the Al Shatha Tower, which is still operating even after his arrest.

‘When things were going better for them here, Daniel had a huge office in a downtown tower with lots of departments, many companies and employees,’ a source said. ‘But it was all shut down or forced underground when the US started looking at them.’

The man added that while most of the web of businesses Daniel founded were separate from his brother and father’s work, they generally shared their real estate interests, and agreed to his wife taking over nominal ownership as they came under investigation.

Daniel is said to have taken numerous preventive steps to shield their assets as he became aware the net was closing – he was said to have anticipated his apprehension, saying he had been ‘walking around with a target on his back’.

This, according to one family friend, is why more recently Daniel started to hide away and avoid friends and business contacts.

The source said: ‘When the pressure built from both the authorities and the media in Ireland, the UK and USA, he literally moved all his people away from him to protect them. He didn’t want to hurt them.

‘He moved himself away from the people he knew properly. He moved himself away from all the people he knows so nothing reaches them.

’He distanced himself because he didn’t want you getting hurt because of his name. That’s how he thinks.’

There had been speculation after their many months out of the public eye that Daniel and Caoimhe may have even separated before his arrest – though there has been nothing to corroborate this.

But if she wasn’t alone before 15 April, Caoimhe certainly is now – she is now, effectively, a single mother, a rarity in Dubai.

And Daniel is awaiting his fate inside Al Awir Central, which is so renowned for violent and substandard conditions that prisoners reputedly have to fight for a bunk bed in the overcrowded cells – a far cry from the life in Dubai he was previously used to.
