Showboy, a Ghanaian artist, refused to accompany CID officers while he was being detained, claiming they had not provided the necessary arrest paperwork. He was live on TikTok when the intense altercation occurred, garnering rapid public attention. In a widely shared video, the officers eventually overpowered him despite his fight and placed him under arrest.

When detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department arrived to arrest Ghanaian rapper Showboy as he was performing live on TikTok, a tense and emotional scene reportedly transpired at his residence.

In the widely shared video, Showboy confronts the police at his home while clearly furious. He can be heard questioning their appearance and declining to accompany them, claiming they lacked the necessary arrest paperwork.

Showboy, a musician from Ghana, was detained by the CID on suspicion of blackmail. The musician maintained that he could not be carried away without formal documents authorizing the arrest, addressing both the authorities and his online audience personally.

Tensions quickly increased as the conversation went on. While the officers held their ground, others in the vicinity attempted to step in. The scenario apparently got worse when the authorities allegedly confiscated a cell phone that belonged to a person connected to Showboy during the standoff.

As the altercation unfolded live in front of thousands of spectators, the performer vehemently resisted, frequently objecting and demanding explanations. The CID forcibly detained Showboy. The authorities eventually forcibly removed him from his home in spite of his efforts.

Many online users were stunned by the wild incident that ended with the arrest, especially since it took place in live time on a well-known social media platform.

In a popular video, Prophet 1 compares Trump to Mahama, creating a stir on social media. Since then, there has been much discussion on the occurrence, with differing viewpoints. While some social media users criticized Showboy’s failure to obey, others questioned the police’ actions.

Many have asked people to remain composed and to hold off on drawing any conclusions until they have official facts. Both Showboy and the Ghana Police Service have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the arrest.

According to reports, investigations are still on, and all claims are unsubstantiated until the issue is resolved in court. What led to Showboy’s arrest? According to reports, Showboy was detained in relation to a suspected case of blackmail involving music executive and businessman David Mensah, better known by his stage name Davido GH.

The musician is reportedly accused of threatening to divulge sensitive or harmful material if certain conditions were not fulfilled. The CID inquiry that resulted in his arrest is said to have been started by this complaint.
