Nigerian singer Temmie Ovwasa has responded after a former classmate described it as ‘sad’ that she turned out this way despite being one of the brightest students in school.

In a lengthy post on X (Twitter), Ovwasa rejected the characterization and laid out the breadth of her achievements, noting that her life and career reflect intentional choices rather than disappointment or decline.
Temmie, revealed that she studied Medical Anatomy, and has built a multidisciplinary career as a musician, writer, visual artist, and polyglot, speaking four languages and playing five musical instruments.
Adding that she has released six albums, published a book with another on the way, and continues to expand her creative output through sculpture, painting, and other art forms.
Beyond her artistic work, the 28-year-old stated that she has also achieved significant personal milestones, including building three houses and running her own farm in Nigeria.
According to her, her work has attracted academic interest, with several scholars writing master’s and PhD theses on her contributions as a queer artist.
Responding to claims that she turned out this way, Ovwasa argued that her trajectory is typical of gifted kids who grow up questioning systems and challenging societal expectations rather than conforming.
Concluded by saying the former classmate should famz her with with his full chest because life is not Nollywood.
