Four men and two teenage boys have been slapped with multiple charges after police allegedly discovered two firearms inside a car.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Old Windsor Road, in Old Toongabbie, about 30km west of Sydney, about 9.40am on Monday.

A 20-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment for minor injuries while a 16-year-old boy was taken to Parramatta Police Station.

The teenager has been charged with 11 offences, including participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity, and was refused bail to appear at a Children’s Court on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old was charged with 13 offences and also refused bail to appear in court on Tuesday.

After searching the vehicle, police allegedly seized two firearms and a Dedicated Encrypted Criminal Communication Device (DECCD).

The operation was part of ongoing investigations into a public shooting on Loura Street in Tallawong, northwest of Sydney, on November 27.

Officers were told two people had attempted to enter a home using a sledgehammer before firing several ‘shots’ into the property.

Police said the attackers fled in a Mazda. A firearm, bleach, a magazine and a mobile phone were allegedly found inside the abandoned vehicle.

About 11am on Monday, officers arrested a 25-year-old man on Mountford Avenue, Guildford. Two phones were seized, including one believed to be a DECCD.

He was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 on Tuesday.

Just half an hour later, detectives discovered four allegedly stolen vehicles at a home in Rouse Hill, about 40km north-west of Sydney.

Two men aged 18 and 23 and a 17-year-old boy – allegedly ran from the property but were arrested nearby and taken to Riverstone Police Station.

Police established a crime scene and raided the house.

They allegedly seized five firearms, thousands of rounds of high-calibre ammunition, multiple fake number plates and two ballistic vests.

The four vehicles, which also allegedly had cloned number-plates attached, were seized for forensic examination.

The trio arrested at Rouse Hill were all charged with 11 offences, including four counts each of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit.

The 23-year-old man was charged with an additional eight offences in relation to his alleged involvement in the public place shooting at Tallawong earlier this year.

The two men were refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 on Tuesday, while the 17-year-old was refused bail to appear before a children’s court.
