An Indiana teenager arrested for allegedly plotting a Valentine’s Day school shooting had a twisted sexual obsession with mass killer Nikolas Cruz, police revealed.
Trinity Shockley, 18, was obsessed with the infamy of school shooters and hatched a chilling plan to shoot up Mooresville High School on Friday, according to an arrest affidavit.
She had been seeking mental health support as she allegedly planned the shooting, and even told a school counselor that she was ‘sexually attracted’ to Cruz – the Parkland high school shooter who killed 17 people in 2018.
On online accounts linked to Shockley, she allegedly told others of her murderous intentions, and days before her arrest she sent a message saying: ‘Parkland part two.’
‘I’ve been planning this for a year,’ Shockley allegedly said.
The affidavit, filed in Morgan County Superior Court following Shockley’s arrest on Thursday, also detailed struggles the 18-year-old had with bullying and the deterioration of her mental health.
Indiana authorities said they zeroed in on the alleged would-be shooter following a tip to the FBI, which reportedly warned that she was planning a Valentine’s Day massacre and had access to an AR-15.
The arrest comes less than two years after Shockley made headlines in her state after miraculously surviving a horror accident where she was struck by a drunk driver while walking to her school bus.

Trinity Shockley, 18, was arrested on Tuesday in Mooresville, Indiana, and was allegedly planning a shooting at Mooresville High School on Friday

According to an arrest affidavit, Trinity was obsessed with the infamy of school shooters and had a ‘shrine’ to mass killers in her bedroom
Cops carried out a search warrant on Shockley’s home in Mooresville as they arrested her, which came after a week-long investigation.
Investigators said the FBI tip led them to track down messages Shockley allegedly sent on Snapchat and Discord where she discussed her plan to shoot up her school.
Shockley allegedly talked about buying a bulletproof vest and sent pictures of firearm magazines, reports the Indy Star.
On February 10, she sent a message saying: ‘4 more days’, per the affidavit.
The troubled teen had a twisted fascination with mass killers, cops say, and she had told a school counselor that she was sexually attracted to Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz and had sent letters to him in prison.
Police said she had then showed the counselor a heart locket she carried with her with Cruz’s picture inside.
The teen had Cruz at his trial on her laptop wallpaper, and she carried three safety pin-fastened buttons depicting mass gunmen on her backpack, the affidavit said.

Shockley, seen with her military veteran father Tim, allegedly sought mental health treatment but was blocked from receiving car by her dad

The 18-year-old told detectives that she wanted to prove she was the ‘number one fan’ of Parkland high school shooter Nikolas Cruz (pictured at his trial), who killed 17 people

Shockley was previously in the news after she was hit by a suspected drunk driver in 2022, which left her with crippling injuries including a fractured skull and brain damage
Inside the backpack, three notebooks were found scrawled with swastikas and hate messages, including ‘kill’, ‘bang’ and ‘I hate you all DIE DIE DIE.’
‘I am death, destroyer of worlds’ another entry from January 9 read.
In another message from an online account reportedly linked to Shockley, she sent an image of Dylan Roof, who shot nine people in a South Carolina church in 2015, captioned: ‘I have THIS staring at me.’
Shockley allegedly told the school counselor about her fascination with Cruz the day after sending that message about Roof.
During the search of her home, police say they found the notebooks and several similar trinkets and mementos for mass shooters in her room, describing the findings as a ‘shrine.’
The FBI tip that led cops to Shockley reportedly said the online accounts belonged to an individual named ‘Jamie’, who said they were a transgender 12th grader.
When she was confronted by detectives on Thursday, Shockley said that she wrote the messages to prove she was Cruz’s ‘number one fan.’
However, after seeing ‘all the police officers, it hit her that she did not want this’, the affidavit states.

A school resource officer reportedly confirmed that Shockley sought mental health counseling since she was a freshman, but her father had barred her from seeking help.
The 18-year-old also told detectives about the incident where she was struck by a drunk driver in 2022, which left her with crippling injuries including a fractured skull and brain damage.
Following her arrest, the Mooresville School District said Shockley has been banned from her school campus as she faces charges.
‘District personnel are thankful for the cooperation of local, state, and federal law enforcement officials, who continue to thoroughly investigate this situation,’ said district communications director Susan Haynes in an emailed statement.
‘As always, mental health resources are available to all students of Mooresville Schools. Families and students are encouraged to contact their school office with any questions.’
