The son and chosen successor of Vladimir Putin‘s ruthless Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov has reportedly been left fighting for his life in a Moscow hospital following a high-speed car crash.
Adam Kadyrov, 18, is said to have been airlifted from Grozny, the capital of the Chechnya region, after getting into a massive pile-up of multiple vehicles in the city today.
Sources told local media that he was in a convoy travelling ‘at very high speed’ when it suddenly encountered an ‘obstacle’.
The teenager himself was driving one of the vehicles, the first in the motorcade, when it struck a fence.
‘He lost control at high speed,’ one source said.
Adam was first taken to the Republican Clinical Hospital in Grozny, amid fears he was unconscious and even in a coma, before he was airlifted to a hospital in Moscow.
So far, Russian and Chechen authorities have remained silent on the matter. But two planes – one linked to the Russian state, the other linked to Kadyrov – reportedly took off urgently from Grozny to Moscow today, landing within minutes of each other at Vnukovo Airport early this morning.
And key areas of the Chechen capital have been closed off, while local media reports significant traffic jams near the hospital and on the road from Argun into the city.
It comes just days after rumours swirled over the health of Ramzan Kadyrov, amid claims the Chechen strongman is gravely ill and receiving emergency treatment.

The 49-year-old head of Russia‘s Chechnya republic has long suffered kidney failure, with doctors said to be avoiding making any firm predictions about his condition.
According to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, Kadyrov underwent dialysis at a private clinic in Chechnya, while members of his powerful clan, including relatives arriving from abroad, have been gathering around him.
Sources linked to Ukraine’s GUR military intelligence claimed there was growing concern behind the scenes, with one unconfirmed report even suggesting Kadyrov had slipped into a coma.
The speculation has been fuelled by the fact he was last seen publicly more than a week ago, when he appeared using a walking stick.
Adam himself has long been groomed for the role of the leader of Chechnya, should his father pass.
Already the security chief of the region, he also oversees the Vladimir Putin University of Russian Special Forces in Gudermes, two Defence Ministry battalions, the entire Chechen Interior Ministry, while heading his father’s personal security service.
Last year, he got married at just 17 to a female relative of Adam Delimkhanov, a high-ranking Chechen politician.
At his wedding, he was seen celebrating by firing in the air from a gold pistol while at the wheel of a Geländewagen for which he was too young to hold a licence.

He was seen wearing a £5.1 million Swiss-made Billionaire Ashoka watch with 189+ carats by US company Jacob & Co.
Giving his blessing to the wedding, Putin told Adam’s father: ‘I congratulate you and your loved ones, and most importantly — the person who most deserves congratulations today — your son — on his wedding!
‘I wish him, his wife, and your whole family all the best, happiness, health, and prosperity! Don’t mistreat them, or they’ll complain to me.’
