Leading smartphone brand TECNO, through its service partner Carlcare Development Nigeria Limited, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Faculty of Arts to empower students with access to world-class technology, practical training, and career development opportunities.

The signing ceremony, held at the Faculty of Arts within the University of Lagos campus, marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration that will see the launch of a TECNO Club in the Faculty and the creation of a Technology Experience Center where students can explore the brand’s latest innovations. Students will also benefit from internships, professional training programs, scholarships, and potential employment opportunities with TECNO and its partners.

Signing on behalf of the University of Lagos were Prof. Ilupeju Akanbi Mudasiru, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Mrs. Victoria Abosede Wickliffe, Registrar. Representing Carlcare Development Nigeria Limited (TECNO‘s service partner) was Lǐ Liàng, Human Resources Director. Also present was Olumide Yomi-Omolayo, TECNO’s Marketing Manager, alongside other senior officials from both institutions.

TECNO emphasized that education and technology are natural partners:

“We believe students should have every opportunity to experience the best tools and training the digital world has to offer. By working with UNILAG, we hope to inspire and prepare the next generation to thrive in whatever paths they choose.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Ilupeju Akanbi Mudasiru, welcomed the initiative:

“By working with a technology leader like TECNO, our students will have the opportunity to translate their academic learning into practical industry skills, preparing them for success in today’s competitive job market.”

As part of the agreement, students will gain access to the TECNO Creators Hub, a platform designed to nurture content creators, storytellers, and digital innovators. This initiative will provide students with tools, training, and resources to produce high-quality content for a global audience.

Beyond technology and creative platforms, the MoU opens doors to valuable internships, training programs, scholarships, and possible employment with TECNO and its partners. This ensures students receive both academic knowledge and real-world industry exposure, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and opportunities to build their futures.
