Ruben Amorim has popped up on the social media trends following Manchester United’s defeat to 4th division side Grimsby Town.
After going down by 2-0 in the first half with goals from Charles Vernam and Tyrell Warren, Manchester United crawled their way back to send the game to penalties.
The two goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Harry Maguire were however not enough to save United from elimination as they lost 12-11 on penalties to Grimsby Town.
Manchester United fans on social media reacted angrily to the defeat as they blamed both the players and manager Ruben Amorim for the team’s abysmal performance in the Carabao.
Some fans were in tears as they feared that the worst might happened to them in the ongoing season if they cannot beat a Grimsby Town team who are even struggling in the English 4th tier league.
Others also blamed the players solely for the team’s defeat arguing that Manchester United should be able to beat Grimsby Town even with the worst coach in the history of football.
