Children of the late Highlife musician, Daddy Lumba

Children of the late Ghanaian Highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, were spotted at the candelight vigil organised to honour the passing of the late musician.

August 2, 2025, marked exactly a week since the legendary Daddy Lumba passed on after battling a brief illness.

The candlelight vigil, organised by the Creative Arts Agency, was attended by top-ranking personalities, sympathisers, fans, and the family of the late musician.

In an exclusive video by GhanaWeb during the candlelight vigil, the late Lumba’s children sunk the atmosphere into intense grief as they read tribute to their late father.

Lumba’s five children with his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, could not hold their tears as they read the tribute to honour their late father.

During the event, the late Lumba’s first son, identified as Kelvin, shared his heartfelt gratitude to his late father.

“Thank you for being here tonight. My name is Kelvin, and my family and I are honoured by your presence to pay tribute in the name of our father Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known to the world as Daddy Lumba. We gather here today in deep gratitude for the life of our father and for the love he gave us. He leaves behind,” he said.

The late musician’s daughter, identified as Dennice, while delivering her tribute, described her late father as a man of love, a man who taught them resilience and strength.

“Behind the spotlight was my father, a man who cared deeply… He taught us all resilience, he taught us strength. He gave within his spirit without ever needing applause. He showed up when it mattered and left people better than he found them. Father, you were larger than life; you were home. Rest well.” Dennice noted.

The late Lumba’s third and fourth daughters also thanked Ghanaians for giving their father the maximum support while alive.

According to them, without the support from Ghanaians, their father would not have gotten to where he did.

Per reports gathered so far, the late Daddy Lumba, together with his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, had five children: two boys and three girls.
