The Tema Development Corporation (TDC) has sent a strong warning to individuals and groups who have acquired lands through questionable means, stressing that no political influence or personal connections will shield anyone from accountability.

Managing Director of TDC, Mr. Courage Nunekpeku, revealed that the corporation has uncovered several disturbing cases of state lands being undervalued and sold off under circumstances that raise red flags.

Speaking at a press conference he assured the media that every legal channel will be explored to retrieve such properties and restore them to their rightful purpose.

“We want to make it clear that no individual, no matter their political affiliation or social standing, will be allowed to shortchange the state. These lands were acquired for public use and development, not for personal profiteering,” Mr. Nunekpeku stated.

The TDC boss explained that a number of investigations are already underway, some of which involve political figures who allegedly used their positions to acquire prime lands at questionable prices.

One such revelation has sparked public outrage, where an NPP executive reportedly sold a state-acquired parcel of land to his wife for just GH₵2,000, far below its market value.

We must protect state resources from exploitation. Lands meant for development projects cannot be converted into private wealth,” he said.

Mr. Nunekpeku further noted that his administration is putting measures in place to block loopholes in land allocation and strengthen transparency in future transactions.

He emphasized that TDC’s mission is not to witch-hunt any political group or individual, but to uphold integrity in land management.
