Taylor Swift released her raunchiest song yet with her track Wood from her new album The Life of a Showgirl.

The superstar, 35, dropped her already critically acclaimed pop album on October 3, and the record includes an overtly sexual song dedicated to her fiancé Travis Kelce.

Strewn throughout the entire song are lyrics about how the Kansas City Chiefs tight end finally broke her unlucky streak in love.

And in the track, the newly engaged singer croons about how she ‘ain’t gotta knock on wood’ since she and her lover can ‘make our own luck.’

‘And baby, I’ll admit I’ve been a little superstitious / The curse on me was broken by your magic wand / Seems to be that you and me, we make our own luck.’

At one point, she even references the NFL star’s podcast with his older brother Jason Kelce as she sings in one of the pre-choruses of the song.

‘New Heights of manhood / I ain’t gotta knock on wood,’ she sings, before adding that ‘His love was the key / That opened my thighs.’

Even at the beginning of the song, she not-so-subtly references her and the football player’s bodies together.

‘Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me / And opened my eyes.’

She sings: ‘Redwood tree / It ain’t hard to see / His love was the key / That opened my thighs.’

On the ninth track of the song, she also referenced their engagement.

‘Girls, I don’t need to catch the bouquet, mm / To know a hard rock is on the way,’ Swift croons in the second verse of the tune.

Elsewhere in her album, she also sang about how finding love with Kelce saved her from tragedy in The Fate of Ophelia.

She referenced their love story in half of the songs on the 12-track album, and in Wi$h Li$t, she also sings about how she doesn’t care about living a rich life as she sings to him: ‘I just want you.’

She sings about wanting to settle down and have ‘a couple kids’ with her lover.

    WOOD – FULL LYRICS

    [Verse 1]

Daisy’s bare naked, I was distraught

He loves me not, he loves me not

Penny’s unlucky, I took him back

And then stepped on a crack

    And the black cat laughed

    [Pre-Chorus]

And baby, I’ll admit I’ve been a little superstitious (Superstitious)

Fingers crossed until you put your hand on mine (Ah)

Seems to be that you and me, we make our own luck

A bad sign is all good

I ain’t gotta knock on wood

    [Chorus]

(Ah) All of that b*****n’, wishing on a falling star

    Never did me any good

I ain’t got to knock on wood

(Ah) It’s you and me forever dancing in the dark (Ah)

    All over me, it’s understood

I ain’t got to knock on wood

    [Post-Chorus]

    Forgive me, it sounds cocky

He ah-matized me and opened my еyes

Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see

His love was thе key that opened my thighs

    [Verse 2]

Girls, I don’t need to catch the bouquet, mm

To know a hard rock is on the way

    [Pre-Chorus]

The curse on me was broken by your magic wand (Ah)

Seems to be that you and me, we make our own luck

New Heights (New Heights) of manhood (Manhood)

I ain’t gotta knock on wood

    [Chorus]

After meeting him, she sings about dreaming of starting a family with him at a house ‘with a driveway and a basketball hoop’.

She also sings about her lover in Opalite, which he previously said was his favorite track, as well as in Eldest Daughter and Honey.

Her album release comes nearly two months after she made an appearance on her husband-to-be’s podcast New Heights and announced her new album.

Just weeks later, she revealed that he proposed to her with photos from a romantic engagement shoot.

‘I knew that he wasn’t crazy the first couple of times that we talked,’ she said on the podcast as she recalled how they first connected.

‘I was just like, he’s truly getting to know me in a way that’s very natural, very pure, very normal. Also, just the way that he could make me laugh so immediately about normal things.’

She added, gushing about her partner: ‘Travis is like, he’s just a vibe-booster in everyone’s life that he’s in. He’s like a human exclamation point. He’s like when you take a picture on your phone and you push the enhanced color button, that’s like what you do to everyone’s life,’ she added.

Her fans were diving into and analyzing their love story when the entire album leaked just hours before the official release in low-quality audio across Discord and other platforms.

Strewn throughout the entire song are lyrics about how the Kansas City Chiefs tight end finally broke her unlucky streak in love. Within minutes, Swifties were dissecting every verse, from the scathing to the swoon-worthy, sparking feverish speculation about whether she was singing about her fiancé Travis Kelce, or rumored industry rivals like Charli XCX and Olivia Rodrigo.

Fans believe they have spotted numerous takedowns and cutting references to other stars including the Kardashian family and Scooter Braun.

Fans are convinced the pop star has taken a brutal dig at Charli XCX in the song Actually Romantic.

The track shares a strikingly similar title to Charli’s 2018 track Everything is Romantic, and there’s one particularly scathing line that seemed to allude to her former tour mate.

‘I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when the coke’s got you brave,’ she sings in a lyric that many listeners interpreted as a pointed jab at Charli, who has openly referenced drug use in her own music.

On her Brat single, 365, Charli sings: ‘Should we do a little key? Should we have a little line?’

The speculation has reignited long-simmering talk of a rift between the two pop stars, who were once close friends.

Per Page Six, one Reddit user declared: ‘That line is 100% about Charli. No one else has called her ‘Boring Barbie.”

Father Figure has also got fans talking as it appears to be told from the perspective of one of Taylor's former mentors Scott Borchetta (Scott, left, picturerd with Scooter Braun)

Another wrote on X: ‘Taylor is DONE being nice — this is shade with a capital S.’

‘What happens if I’m a Charli and Taylor fan?’ a third asked.

Others pointed out that it was presumptuous to assume the song or lyric was about Charli.

‘Why are we ruling out the fact it could be about Matty [Healy]? Or literally anyone else? You heard coke and assumed Charli,’ one argued.

During Taylor’s 2018 Reputation stadium tour, Charli opened for the 14-time Grammy Award winner on over 50 nights.

But in the years since, their friendship has cooled and Charli has grown closer to The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, who briefly dated Swift in 2023, after marrying Healy’s bandmate George Daniel.

The fourth song on the album, Father Figure, has also got fans talking as it appears to be told from the perspective of one of Taylor’s former mentors.

There has been speculation she is singing about Scott Borchetta, the CEO of her former record label Big Machine Label Group, and how he sold her masters to Scooter Braun.

She sings: ‘I’ll be your father figure / I drink that brown liquor / I can make deals with the devil / because my d**k’s bigger / This love is pure profit / Just step into my office / I dry your tears with my sleeve / Leave it with me / I protect the family.’

Taylor famously feuded with Scooter after he got the master rights to her first six albums through Ithica Holdings, which aquired Big Machine.

The singer said at the time she was not given a fair chance to buy the rights herself, although she has since got ownership of them.

Father Figure is a reinterpretation of George Michael’s song of the same name and he also receives a writing credit on the track.

The eighth song on the album, Wi$h Li$t, has got fans talking about possible references to the Kardashian family.

The song contrasts what Taylor wants: ‘Got me drеaming about a driveway with a basketball hoop / Boss up, settle down’, with what other famous people want.

She sings: ‘They want that yacht life, under chopper blades / They want those bright lights and Balenci’ shades / And a fat a*s with a baby face / They want it all’

‘And then that video taken off the internet They want it all.’

A fan shared the lyrics on Reddit and theorised it could be a ‘Kardashian diss track’, writing: ‘I mean….. lowkey this could be very much about them…’

The line ‘a fat a*s with a baby face’ has been interpreted as a reference to Kim Kardashian in particular and her public image.

The feud between Taylor and former power couple Kim and Kanye West appears to trace back to the 2016 release of West’s The Life Of Pablo.

In that album’s song Famous, Kim’s ex-husband raps: ‘I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b**** famous.’

The line, which alludes to when the rapper interrupted Taylor’s win at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, was supposedly passed on to the songstress for approval, but she denies ever giving it the OK.

Taylor said she had been contact about the song, but she was ‘never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b**** famous.”

In an effort to prove Kanye’s version, Kim shared an edited clip from the studio of him calling up Taylor and seemingly getting her approval.

However, the clip shows him conveying the idea, more than the specific lyrics, and when the complete call later leaked it made it clear that the use of ‘b****,’ which seemed to be a major issue for Taylor, was left out completely.

The eighth song on the album, Wi$h Li$t, has got fans talking about possible references to the Kardashian family (pictured with Kim Kardashian in 2015)

The song Cancelled has got fans talking about Taylor’s former friendship with Blake Lively who some believe is referenced on the track.

Taylor and Blake were once close friends but they have reportedly had a falling out during Blake’s legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

However, Cancelled is not believed to be a diss track because it was recorded during the Eras tour when Blake and Taylor were still close.

Instead, fans believe the song is defending Blake and the public scruting she was under when her feud with Justin first became public.

On Cancelled, she sings: ‘At least you know exactly who your friends are / They’re the ones with matching scars.’

She later sings: ‘They stood by me / Before my exoneration / So I’m not here for judgement.’

Many of the songs hint to their romance, engagement, and Taylor's hopes for their future

Many of the songs hint to their romance, engagement, and Taylor’s hopes for their future

This suggests a bond Taylor has with someone, likely in the spotlight who has also had to endure public criticism.

Later however, Taylor does appear to acknowledge Blake’s PR blunders as she sings: ‘If you can’t be good then just be better at it / Everyone’s got bodies in the attic / Or took somebody’s man.’

But the song ultimately ends positively with the line: ‘I’ll take you by the hand / And soon you’ll learn the art of never getting caught.’

There has also been some speculation that a line on Cancelled may even refer to Katy Perry.

The pair famously feuded for years – with Taylor writing the song Bad Blood about her – before making up in 2019 when Katy appeared in the music video for You Need To Calm Down.

On Cancelled, Taylor sings: ‘Did you girl boss too close to the sun?’ which some have speculated could be a nod to the heavy criticism Katy came under for her flight to space with Lauren Bezos and Gayle King.

Daily Mail has contacted representatives of Charli XCX, Kim Kardashian and Blake Lively for comment.

The record marks a major milestone for Swift: her first as an engaged woman, following Kelce’s romantic garden proposal in August 2025.

It also ushers in a bold new era for the 14-time Grammy winner, who ditched her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff for the first time in over a decade.

Instead, she co-produced the album with pop powerhouses Max Martin and Shellback, pairing her sharpest storytelling with their high-gloss, hit-making touch.

Alongside the music, Swift unveiled a daring new visual aesthetic, embodying a sultry Vegas showgirl for the album’s imagery.

The title itself, she revealed, was inspired by her days juggling her record-breaking Eras Tour, which spanned 21 months, and late-night studio sessions in Sweden.

‘I would do like three shows in a row, have three days off, fly to Sweden, go back to tour — I was physically exhausted but so mentally stimulated,’ Swift recalled on her husband-to-be’s New Heights Podcast over the summer. ‘I was just so excited to be creating.’

In August, Kelce teased to his listeners that he couldn’t stop ‘listening to this album’ and had ‘been dancing throughout the house’ to it.

Within minutes, Swifties were dissecting every verse, from the scathing to the swoon-worthy, to decode if she was singing about her fiancé or rumored industry rivals like Charli XCX (seen in 2014)

‘I know she mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats, but it’s just still so poetic in her melodies and her references and stuff,’ he assured Swifties. ‘It’s just so much fun to listen to.’

He also gushed his favorite track was Opalite.

Kelce was reportedly only one of five people who have been granted access to the new album which has been kept under wraps in an encrypted folder.

Others include Swift’s formidable publicist Tree Paine, an unidentified studio engineer, and Max Martin and Shellback who both helped to produce the music.

The Life of a Showgirl follows Swift’s 2024 record, The Tortured Poets Department, which shattered records before it was even released.

Last month, Swift announced she was having a theatrical release party to celebrate her record, which will play across 540 AMC theaters this weekend.

Fans will see the exclusive world premiere of the Fate of Ophelia music video, plus behind-the-scenes footage, lyric videos and personal insights from Swift herself.

The special theatrical release is slated to be 89 minutes long.

It is expected to rake in around $30-$50million, per Deadline – and presale tickets reached $15million over the span of 24 hours since the event’s announcement.

Ticket prices sit at $12 – which was decided by the award-winning performer herself.

Taylor Swift’s secret Life of a Showgirl Easter eggs revealed

Taylor Swift officially dropped her long-awaited 12th album The Life Of A Showgirl – and fans have already spotted the hidden Easter Eggs throughout the songs.

An Easter Egg is a hidden detail, message or bonus feature in a song which is intended for fans to discover themselves.

Taylor, 35, is known for her love of the device and uses them frequently on all of her records.

The Grammy winner initially announced the new LP back in August during an episode of fiance Travis Kelce‘s New Heights podcast – with the NFL star proposing soon after.

The Life Of A Showgirl contains a total of 12 tracks and has sent fans into a frenzy on social media as they offered their reactions to the music.

Swift seemingly referenced to her public romance with Kelce in more than one song, including Opalite – while other tunes on the album have lyrics that mention her fame.

She also appears to make reference to her famous master dispute with Scooter Braun

    Taylor’s love for Travis

The Fate Of Ophelia is the first song that appears on the album and Swift seems to reference to Kelce in the lyrics.

Back in July, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared an Instagram that post that included snaps of himself and Swift.

In the caption, the NFL player had typed out, ‘Had some adventures this offseason, kept it [100].’

And in The Fate Of Ophelia, the Grammy winner sings, ‘You dug me out of my grave and saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia/Keep it one hundred.’

The star also sang about the very start of their romance in summer 2023 after Kelce went public with his interest in the singer on an episode of his podcast.

‘I heard you calling/On the megaphone/You wanna see me all alone,’ the lyrics include.

The second track is titled Elizabeth Taylor and Swift appears to reference similarities she has with the late Hollywood starlet, including their love lives often being in the spotlight.

‘Oftentimes it doesn’t feel so glamorous to be me/All the right guys promised they’d stay/Under bright lights, they withered away, but you bloom.’

In the song Opalite, Swift sings, ‘You were dancing through the lightening strikes/Sleepless in the onyx night.’ Kelce’s October birthstone is opal and appears to be referenced in the title of the track.

In Eldest Daughter, she sings about finding love with Kelce and some of the lyrics are, ‘When you found me I said I was busy/That was a lie’ – a reference to the very start of their romance.

‘When I said I don’t believe in marriage that was a lie/Every eldest daughter was the first lamb to the slaughter,’ Swift also sings, referencing herself as the ‘eldest daughter.’

The track also contains lyrics about the star’s dedication to those she loves.

‘And I’m never gonna let you down/I’m never gonna leave you out/So many traitors/ Smooth operators/But I’m never gonna break that vow.’

In the sexy track Wood, the Grammy winner could be heard singing, ‘Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see/His love was the key to open my thighs.’

Other lyrics from the song appear to reference an engagement ring: ‘Girls I don’t need to catch the bouquet to know a hard rock is on the way.’

Swift also makes a reference to Kelce’s New Heights podcast with, ‘Seems to me that you and me we make our own luck/New Heights of manhood/I ain’t gotta knock on wood.’

The 10th track on the album is Cancelled! – with some fans also speculating that it could also be about Lively.

However, Swift sings lyrics about helping a person who has been cancelled: ‘Come with me, when they see us they’ll run/Something wicked this way comes.

‘Good thing I like my friends cancelled/I like ’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal/At least you know exactly who your friends are – we’re the ones with matching scars.’

Honey is another song referencing to her romance with Kelce and how their relationship altered her view on love.

‘Redefine all of those blues/When you say ‘honey’/Summertime spritz, pink skies/You can call me ‘honey’ if you want/Because I’m the one you want.’

Meanwhile, Wi$h Li$t appears to be about the life she wants with the NFL star as she sings, ‘I just want you/Have a couple kids, got the whole block lookin’ like you.

‘I made wishes on all of the stars/Please, God, bring me a best friend/Who I think is hot.’

    Blake Lively

Ruin The Friendship has been rumored to be about Blake Lively – whom Swift has had a close friendship with over the years.

However, the songstress was embroiled in drama when she was briefly subpoenaed amid the actress’s ongoing legal drama with Justin Baldoni earlier this year.

At the time, Swift’s camp slammed the subpoena as they argued she was not very involved in the drama on set of the 2024 film It Ends With Us.

Explosive claims had also emerged that Lively threatened to release texts from the Grammy winner, while a source stated back in June that their friendship has ‘stalled.’

However in the lyrics, Swift seems to reflect on a past romance that could have been.

‘Have fun, it’s prom/Wilted corsage dangles from my wrist/Over his shoulder I catch a glimpse.

‘And see…You looking at me/And it was not an invitation/But as the 50 Cent song played/Should’ve kissed you anyway.’

But the star also sings, ‘My advice is always ruin the friendship/Better that than regret it for all time.’

The song Cancelled has also got fans talking about Taylor’s former friendship with Blake who some believe is referenced on the track.

Fans believe the song is defending Blake and the public scruting she was under when her feud with Justin first became public.

On Cancelled, she sings: ‘At least you know exactly who your friends are / They’re the ones with matching scars.’

She later sings: ‘They stood by me / Before my exoneration / So I’m not here for judgement.’

    Elizabeth Taylor

Taylor gives a nod to another famous showgirl, Elizabeth Taylor, on the second track on the album named after the legendary actress.

Elizabeth was one of the most famous film stars of the 20th century and was the highest-paid film actor in the 1960s.

She was also known for her eight marriages, including twice to Richard Burton, the man who she is most closely associated.

While Taylor is yet to marry Travis, she could undoubtedly relate to the scrutiny of being in a relationship under the limelight as she has done with all of her exes.

The second track is titled Elizabeth Taylor and Swift appears to reference similarities she has with the late Hollywood starlet, including their love lives often being in the spotlight; late actress seen in 1950

On the song, she sings: ‘I’d cry my eyes violet’, a reference to Elizabeth’s famous ‘violet’ eyes.

The line ‘I would trade the Cartier for someone to trust’ is a reference to the actress’ jewellery collection and ‘When you called me at the Plaza Athénée,’ is a nod to the hotel Elizabeth stayed at with Richard.

‘That view of Portofino was on my mind,’ is a reference to Elizabeth’s fondness of the Italian village where Richard proposed and ‘We hit the best booth at Musso & Frank’s’ is a reference to the restaurant in L.A. where the actress was known to dine.

Beef with Scooter Braun and Charli XCX

Father Figure has also got fans talking as it appears to be told from the perspective of one of Taylor's former mentors Scott Borchetta (Scott, left, picturerd with Scooter Braun)

In Father Figure, Swift appears to possibly take a swipe at Scooter Braun after she finally purchased the rights to the master recordings of her first six albums; seen in February in L.A.

Another wrote on X: ‘Taylor is DONE being nice — this is shade with a capital S.’

‘What happens if I’m a Charli and Taylor fan?’ a third asked.

Actually Romantic has also been speculated to be about Charli XCX - rather than a song about romance; the pair seen in 2014 in NYC

    Kardashian’s lavish lifestyles

‘Pain hidden by the lipstick and lace/Sequins are forever and now I know the life of a showgirl, babe/Wouldn’t have it any other way (Thank you for the lovely bouquet),’ the pair sing.

Hours before The Life of a Showgirl officially dropped, all 12 tracks leaked online in low-quality audio across Discord and other platforms.

The record marks a major milestone for Swift: her first as an engaged woman, following Kelce’s romantic, garden proposal in August 2025.

In celebration of the album dropping, the Grammy winner also shared new sexy photos to fans.

Back in August, Kelce teased to his listeners that he couldn’t stop ‘listening to this album’ and had ‘been dancing throughout the house’ to it. He also gushed his favorite track was Opalite.

The final track on the album is titled The Life Of A Showgirl - and features Sabrina Carpenter; seen in February in L.A.

The Life of a Showgirl follows Swift’s 2024 record, The Tortured Poets Department, which shattered records before it was even released.

Last month, Swift announced she was having a theatrical release party to celebrate her record, which will play across 540 AMC theaters this weekend.

It is expected to rake in around $30-$50million, per Deadline – and presale tickets reached $15 million over the span of 24 hours since the event’s announcement.

Ticket prices sit at $12 – which was decided by the award-winning performer herself.
