Ghanaian-born Spanish youngster Taufik Seidu has taken a major step in his career after making his La Liga debut for Atlético Madrid in their 2-1 defeat to FC Barcelona.

The teenage midfielder was introduced in the 68th minute, replacing Clément Lenglet, marking his first senior appearance in Spain’s topflight.

Seidu’s rise has been impressive, having been part of Atletico’s youth setup since the age of nine, where he developed into one of the club’s promising young talents.

He has also captained Spain U17, underlining his quality and leadership at youth level.

Born in Ghana but raised in Spain, the youngster remains eligible to represent the Black Stars, with the Ghana Football Association reportedly keen on securing his international future.

His La Liga debut is seen as a significant milestone, and Seidu will now hope to build on this opportunity as he continues his development with Atletico Madrid.
