A woman who allegedly shot at police officers who were carrying out a search warrant has pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempted murder.

Samantha Ellen Bird, 37, is accused of using a .22 rifle to fire at an unmarked police car at a home in rural Collinsvale in southern Tasmania in October.

Police have said a single shot hit the front wheel guard of the car and was fired from about 60m away.

Officers were at the home with a search warrant as part of an ongoing criminal investigation, police have said.

Bird, who appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday, is also facing multiple gun and drug offences, and is accused of possessing explosives.

She pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempted murder and will face the Supreme Court in February.

Multiple police were at the property and had driven past the front gate when they heard a ‘crack’ sound, Tasmania Police Assistant Commissioner Adrian Bodnar said in October.

Derek Michael Crosswell, 38, was charged with attempted aggravated assault and gun offences over the incident, and has been remanded in custody.
